Only thing I didn't understand was the last poem:"Had it not been for hardship, all men would have become great;Magnanimty causes poverty and bravery, death". I didn't understand the part starting at Magnanimty. Does it cause poverty and death and bravery? Or how do I understand it?

For this reason, one needs to be watchful to his/her desires in order to circumscribe them instead of being circumscribed, that is emprisonned by them. The fool considers that by giving free way to his desires, he frees himself; quite the reverse, by doing so, he reduces himself to the state of almost an object, which fate is to be used, to be commanded for ever and ever by that which is commanded by nothing but itself. Truly, the highest and healthiest desire for a man is never to lose sight of his Source or God or Allah. This is Godlikeness. There , and there only, true freedom and happiness exist. Zazak Allah.
